What Does It Mean to Back Juthan on Kickstarter?

It isn't a donation.

It's a way to help bring Surrey's House of Chocolate to life - and receive something special in return.

Over the past three years, Juthan has grown from an idea we shared into an award-winning bean-to-bar chocolate maker here in Surrey.

We have now reached the limits of our current workshop.

We could simply move somewhere bigger and make more chocolate. But we believe there is an opportunity to create something much more meaningful: Surrey's House of Chocolate - a place where people can discover how chocolate is made, explore its flavours, experience guided tastings and see the craft of bean-to-bar chocolate for themselves.

To help us take that next step, we've launched a Kickstarter campaign.

But what exactly does that mean?

Kickstarter isn't charity

This is perhaps the most important thing to explain.

When you support our Kickstarter, you aren't simply donating money to Juthan.

Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform. It allows a community of people to collectively help make a project possible.

In our case, you choose how much you would like to pledge by selecting one of our reward tiers.

You back the project. We reward your support.

That could mean receiving a Kickstarter-exclusive chocolate, joining us for a behind-the-scenes experience, attending the opening of Surrey's House of Chocolate, sitting at the Architect's Table with us, or even leaving your own permanent imprint on Juthan.

And every pledge takes us one step closer to making the House of Chocolate a reality.

We've created seven different ways to become part of the story, starting at £30.

All backers will have their names on our Founding Wall in Juthan's House of Chocolate.

£30, Founding Supporter

Become one of the people who helped make Surrey's House of Chocolate possible from the beginning.

You'll receive our Kickstarter-exclusive Founding Bar, made from cocoa selected especially for the campaign, and your name will be permanently displayed on our Founders' Wall inside Surrey's House of Chocolate.

Best for: someone who wants to support the project and own a little piece of its beginning.

£85, Behind the Bean

Come behind the scenes and discover how we make chocolate from bean to bar.

Your reward includes an exclusive Founding Supporters factory tour before the public opening, a guided chocolate tasting with cocoa tea, our new Vanilla 75% No Added Sugar bar, and recognition on the Founders' Wall.

Best for: the chocolate lover who wants to experience the craft for themselves.

£175, The Founding Collection

Experience some of the chocolates this Kickstarter will help us create.

You'll receive two Kickstarter-exclusive six-bar Founding Collections, featuring the Founding Bar, new 75% No Added Sugar creations and chocolates from the Juthan collection.

Best for: someone who wants the chocolate!

£395, Founding Opening

Be among the first people through the doors.

Join us with a guest for an exclusive Founding Supporters opening experience, meet Willem and Karolina, enjoy a guided tasting, discover the story behind Juthan and receive a Kickstarter-exclusive Founding Collection.

Best for: two people who want to experience the beginning of the House of Chocolate together.

£795, Architect's Table

Take a seat at the table where future Juthan creations begin.

Spend an intimate evening with Willem and Karolina exploring bean-to-bar chocolate, tasting experimental creations before their release and voting on a future Juthan flavour.

This tier also includes everything in the Founding Opening reward.

Best for: the serious chocolate enthusiast who wants to become part of Juthan's creative process.

£1,595, The Founding Imprint

Leave something behind that becomes part of Juthan's story.

Founding Imprint patrons receive everything included in the Architect's Table, together with a limited Founding Edition chocolate created for this group.

Its commemorative sleeve will carry the names of the Founding Imprint patrons - recognising the people who helped bring Surrey's House of Chocolate to life.

You'll also receive five Founding Edition bars and recognition as a Founding Imprint Patron on the Juthan website.

Best for: someone who wants their contribution to become a lasting part of Juthan.

£2,695 — Founding Imprint + Personalised Nutrition Programme

Our most personal reward combines everything in the Founding Imprint with a four-month personalised nutrition and wellbeing programme with Karolina.

It includes an initial 75-minute consultation, nine personalised coaching sessions, a personalised nutrition plan and ongoing resources and support throughout the programme.

Best for: someone who wants to support Juthan at the highest level while investing in their own nutrition and wellbeing.

You can make your reward your own

There are also optional additions, including cocoa tea, a six-bar Juthan gift set and early access to seasonal flavours.

So whether you simply want to say "I helped make this happen", want some extraordinary chocolate to enjoy at home, or want to become deeply involved in the founding of the House of Chocolate, there's a way to be part of it.

What happens to your pledge?

Our Kickstarter has a £59,000 funding goal.

The funding will help us expand our bean-to-bar production capacity with the equipment we need to meet growing demand and begin creating the visitor experience behind Surrey's House of Chocolate.

Juthan already exists. We already make the chocolate. We already have customers, retailers, awards and an established production process.

The Kickstarter isn't about starting Juthan.

It's about helping us take what we've already built and turn it into something more.

A place where chocolate isn't simply bought and eaten, but discovered, understood and savoured.
